  1. World Blood Donor Day is annually observed on 14 June to express gratitude towards selfless voluntary blood donors and celebrate the essence of life and humanity and to raise awareness about the significance of donating blood. The theme of World Blood Donor Day 2023 is “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often.” 
  2. Mumbai Traffic Police on 14 June, 2023 observed ‘No Honking Day’ in an effort to curb noise pollution in the city.
  3. The Geological Survey of India Training Institute (GSITI), operating under the Ministry of Mines on 13 June 2023, received accreditation from the National Accreditation Board of Education and Training (NABET).

On 13 June 2023, two warships of INS, ‘Anjadip’, the 3rd of eight indigenously built Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC), and INS ‘Sanshodhak’, the 4th and last in the series of Survey Vessels (Large) Project, were launched by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd. at shipbuilding facility of Larsen & Toubro in Chennai, Tamil Nadu for the Indian Navy.

  13. Punjab National Bank has launched an IVR-based UPI solution-UPI 123PAY, making it the first public sector bank to do so.
  14. A team of researchers uncovered a new species of gliding geckos named Gekko Mizoramensis in Mizoram. As the new species can glide the researchers have termed it a ‘parachute gecko’.
  15. Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has signed Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya as the brand ambassador for Exter, its sub 4 metre sports utility vehicle (SUV).
  16. Cormac McCarthy, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of such acclaimed novels as ‘The Road’ and ‘No Country for Old Men’ passed away at the age 89.
